■エースホテル京都では、プライド月間の特別企画として、マンガ家・アーティストの田亀源五郎さんと、パフォーマーでありクィアカルチャーの象徴的存在であるシモーヌ深雪さんをお迎えし、特別対談を開催します。

本トークでは、おふたりの出会いや交流からはじまり、田亀さんが「ゲイ・エロティック・アーティスト」として歩んできたキャリア、そして初期の長編作『嬲り者(1991年~1993年) 』や『銀の華(1994年~1998年) 』などの挑戦的な作品に込めた想いを語っていただきます。リアルで肉感的な描写、読者層をあえて限定するかのようなスタンスは、日本では長らく誤解や敬遠の対象であった一方、海外では早くからアートとして高く評価されてきました。

また、一般誌での連載となった『弟の夫(2014年~2017年) 』以降の変化や、『僕らの色彩(2018年~2020年) 』『魚と水(2022年) 』と続く“社会との接点を持つ”作品群が生まれた背景、「結婚の平等」やカミングアウトをめぐる日本社会の現状についても、当事者の視点で深く掘り下げます。ゲイカルチャーの歴史をひもときながら、多様な愛のあり方と社会との関係性を読み解いていく1時間。笑いと鋭さのあいだを行き来する、知的でチャーミングな対話をどうぞお楽しみください。

■出演者情報
田亀 源五郎
日本のゲイ漫画家の中で有数の作品数と影響力を持ち、日本国外でもアーティストとして名高い。2014年の『弟の夫』を皮切りにLGBTを扱った一般向け漫画を描き始め、同作は文化庁メディア芸術祭優秀賞、日本漫画家協会賞、アイズナー賞を授与されている。

シモーヌ深雪
1986年デビュー。関西を拠点に活動する日本最古のドラァグクイーンの一人であり、シャンソン歌手。ドラァグクイーンイベント「DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER」のオーガナイザーとしても知られている。ゴージャスにして妖艶な退廃的魅力が溢れたボーカルと、華麗なるシャンソンステージ、アバンギャルドと正統派レビューが絶妙なバランスで混在するパフォーマンスが多くの観客を魅了している。雑誌やメディアでコラムを執筆したり、ライブトーク出演なども勢力的に行っている。

Exploring a Diverse Society Through Gay Culture

■As part of a special Pride Month program, Ace Hotel Kyoto is proud to host a unique conversation between manga artist and visual creator Gengoroh Tagame and iconic queer performer Simone Fukayuki.

This special talk will begin with the story of how these two creative forces met and connected, followed by an exploration of Tagame’s career as a “gay erotic artist.” He will reflect on the themes and messages behind his bold early works, such as Naburimono (1991–1993) and Silver Flower (1994–1998). Known for his raw, visceral depictions and a deliberately niche appeal, Tagame’s work was long misunderstood and marginalized in Japan, while being critically acclaimed and embraced as art abroad.

The conversation will also delve into the shift that began with his mainstream breakthrough My Brother’s Husband (2014–2017), and the social resonance of subsequent works like Our Colors (2018–2020) and Fish and Water (2022). From the evolution of his artistic voice to current issues like marriage equality and coming out in Japanese society, the discussion will explore these themes from a deeply personal and authentic perspective.

■ Cast Information

Gengoro Tagame
One of Japan’s most prolific and influential gay manga artists, Gengoro Tagame is internationally recognized for his work as an artist.
Since the release of My Brother’s Husband in 2014, he has created several mainstream manga works that explore LGBTQ themes.
My Brother’s Husband received numerous prestigious awards, including the Excellence Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival, the Japan Cartoonists Association Award, and an Eisner Award.

Simone Fukayuki
Debuting in 1986, Simone Fukayuki is one of Japan’s oldest drag queens and a chanson singer based in the Kansai region.
She is also known as the organizer of the drag queen event DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER.
With a voice rich in decadent charm and glamour, her dazzling chanson performances combine the elegance of classic revue with a touch of avant-garde flair, captivating audiences far and wide.
In addition to performing, she is active in writing columns for magazines and making frequent live talk appearances across various media platforms.
